How to delete your account

There are two ways. Either one deletes the same data.

1. In the app (immediate)

  1. Open Baseball Mechanics and tap the settings icon.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the settings panel to the section headed DELETE ACCOUNT.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

This cannot be undone.

2. By email

If you can no longer open the app — for example you have already uninstalled it — email mechanicssupport@gmail.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it.

We respond within 30 days.

⚠️ Uninstalling the app does not delete your account

Removing the app deletes the copy of your data stored on that device. It does not delete your cloud account or the data stored with it.

On iPhone and iPad this is especially important: your sign-in token is kept in the system keychain, which Apple does not clear when an app is removed. Reinstalling therefore returns you to your own account and history rather than a blank one. That is deliberate — but it means uninstalling is not deletion. Use one of the two routes above.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, we delete:

Video frames are never part of this, because they are never kept. Frames you submit for analysis are discarded as soon as the analysis is generated. The video file itself never leaves your device at any point.

Player photos are never part of this either — they stay on your device and are never uploaded.

What may be kept, and for how long

Data Retention after deletion
Diagnostic reports Deleted with your account. These are technical error reports used to keep the app working; they carry your account identifier but no name, email address, or player profile information, and are in any case deleted 90 days after they were created.
Team data owned by someone else If you were a member of a team another person created, that team continues to exist. Your own membership and scores are removed with your account.
Records we are required to keep Anything we must retain to meet a legal or accounting obligation, for as long as that obligation lasts.

Everything else is deleted.

A note on verification records. While your account exists, a verification record is kept as an audit trail even after the measurable it describes is edited or removed — its whole purpose is to record what a coach confirmed and when. Those records are deleted with your account.

Deleting a child’s data

A parent or legal guardian may review or delete their child’s data at any time by emailing mechanicssupport@gmail.com from the guardian address on the account. We respond within 30 days.

A guardian may also withdraw consent at any time, using the link in the confirmation email we sent when consent was given, or from the pending-consent screen inside the app. Withdrawing consent locks the child’s account and then deletes the child’s data.

If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we delete it promptly.

Other options
