Baseball Mechanics – Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Baseball Mechanics mobile application. Please read them carefully before using the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Baseball Mechanics ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of the App, including coaches, players, parents, and any other individuals.

2. Description of Service

Baseball Mechanics allows you to capture or upload video frames and receive AI-generated analysis of baseball mechanics (pitching, hitting, and catching). The analysis is produced by Anthropic's Claude AI model based on the image frames you provide. The App also offers optional team, recruiting, and progress-tracking features.

The App is intended as an educational and training aid. Analysis results are informational only and do not constitute professional coaching, athletic training, or medical advice. Always consult qualified professionals before making decisions that could affect player health or performance.

3. Eligibility

If you are 13 or older, you may create and use an account yourself. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Players under 13: the account must be created and owned by a parent or legal guardian, who must confirm that they are the parent or guardian and provide their own email address as the account owner. For any player under 13, recruiting profiles cannot be published to recruiters or made public. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Only a parent or legal guardian may purchase a subscription for a minor. By purchasing, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

4.1 What is free

The App can be used without paying. The free tier includes 5 lifetime analyses, each analyzing 6 frames. Premium features are unlocked only by purchasing a subscription through the App Store or Google Play; there is no other way to obtain them.

4.2 Subscription plans

The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions, each available with a monthly or annual billing period:

• Player Premium — 25 analyses per month, each analyzing 12 frames.
• Coach Premium — unlimited analyses, each analyzing 12 frames, together with the team, roster, and coaching features. "Unlimited" is subject to a fair-use limit of 1,000 analyses per month, which exists to prevent automated abuse; if you legitimately need more, contact us.

The exact price and billing period of each plan are shown to you in the App before you confirm the purchase, and on the App Store or Google Play listing. Prices vary by country and currency.

4.3 Automatic renewal — please read

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings after purchase. We cannot cancel it for you, and deleting the App does not cancel it.
• Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not refund or shorten the period you have already paid for — you keep access until that period ends.

4.4 Changing plans

You may switch between plans at any time. Switching between plans of the same billing period takes effect at your next renewal date, and you are not charged early for the switch.

4.5 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and are subject to their payment terms. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds. Refund requests must be made to Apple or Google under their respective refund policies. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under applicable consumer law.

4.6 Restoring a purchase

Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID or Google account. If you reinstall the App or use a new device, use Restore Purchases in the App to recover your subscription.

4.7 Price and plan changes

We may change prices or plan features. A price increase will not take effect for an existing subscriber without notice and, where required, your consent — and you may cancel before it applies. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.

4.8 Analysis limits

The analysis counts above are enforced by our servers, and attempting to circumvent them (see Section 7) may result in suspension. Analyses do not roll over between months.

5. User Content

When you submit video frames for analysis, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of delivering the analysis to you. We do not retain your video frames after analysis is complete.

You represent that:

• You have the right to submit the content (including any images of other individuals)
• The content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights
• If the content includes a minor, you are their parent or legal guardian, or have obtained appropriate consent

6. AI-Generated Content

Analysis results are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI model. These results:

• Are automatically generated and may contain errors or inaccuracies
• Do not reflect the views or expertise of the developer
• Should not be relied upon as the sole basis for training decisions
• May vary between submissions of similar content

We make no warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI-generated analysis.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Submit content that is obscene, harassing, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
• Use automated tools to access or scrape the App or its backend services
• Attempt to circumvent payment requirements or access paid features without purchase
• Share, resell, or redistribute App features or analysis results for commercial gain without written permission

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and all non-user content, is owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You retain ownership of any video or image content you submit. AI-generated analysis reports delivered through the App may be used by you for personal or coaching purposes.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the App at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App and any in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

Uninstalling the App removes the data stored on your device. It does not delete your cloud account, and it does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in your Apple or Google account settings (Section 4.3). To delete your account and its data, use Delete Account in the App's settings, or contact us at the address in Section 15. Sections 5, 8, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer is located, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the App or the App Store and Google Play listings.
